LAS CRUCES, NM – The Doña Ana County Clerk’s Office is pleased to announce that Clerk
Amanda López Askin has been reappointed to the Voting System Certification Committee
(VSCC) by Senator Mimi Stewart, President Pro Tempore of the New Mexico Senate.
Clerk López Askin will continue to serve on the committee for another two-year term. Her
reappointment reflects her dedication and expertise in ensuring the integrity and reliability of
New Mexico’s election processes.
The VSCC is tasked with evaluating the suitability and reliability of voting systems used in
elections under the Election Code. The committee makes critical recommendations to the
Secretary of State regarding the certification of voting systems, ensuring they meet the highest
standards of security, accuracy, and accessibility.
