ONLINE ABSENTEE APPLICATIONS NOW AVAILABLE FOR THE 2024 GENERAL ELECTION

LAS CRUCES, NM- Doña Ana County Clerk, Dr. Amanda López Askin announced Thursday that registered voters can request an absentee ballot for the 2024 General Election by visiting the NM Voter Info Portal www.NmVote.org.
Registered Doña Ana County Residents can apply for an absentee ballot online via NmVote.org or at the County Clerk’s office at 845 N. Motel Blvd. Las Cruces, NM, or by emailing us at Elections@donaanacounty.org.
The last day to apply for an absentee ballot is Tuesday, October 22.
THE PROCESS
Absentee ballots will be mailed to registered voters with a completed absentee application starting on October 8. Completed ballots can be:
􀂇􀀃Mailed or dropped off at the County Clerk’s Office at 845 N. Motel Blvd. Las Cruces, NM
􀂇􀀃Dropped off at a designed secured container. To find a secured container location, visit www.donaanacountyelections.com/locations/
􀂇􀀃Dropped off in person at a polling site during either early voting or election day voting.
The deadline to request an Absentee Ballot is Tuesday, October 22, 2024. Also, if the ballot is mailed back, the voter should allow 7 – 10 days for the ballot to be delivered to the County Clerk’s Office. Ballots must be turned in by Election Day at 7pm. General Election Day is Tuesday, November 5.
PERMANENT ABSENTEE BALLOT OPTION AVAILABLE
López Askin also shared that it is now possible for voters to voluntarily opt-in for permanent absentee voting when requesting this current absentee ballot. She said that if a voter selects the permanent absentee
ballot option, they will automatically be mailed an absentee ballot for every subsequent election. This option can be changed at any time. Voters are not eligible for the permanent absentee list if they want their ballot delivered to an out of state address.
