Doña Ana Clerk’s Office announces  18% turnout for the 2023 Regular Local Election

LAS CRUCES, NM – Voter turnout for the 2023 Regular Local Election in Doña Ana County was approximately 18.3%, or 22,389 voters. This is higher than the turnout for the last municipal election in 2021, which had approximately 11.8%, or 14,440 voters, County Clerk Amanda López Askin announced Wednesday. 

“We are very pleased with the stronger voter turnout. Our office is always working on engaging voters, and we hope that the upward trend in voter turnout will reinforce the importance of regular local elections,” said County Clerk Amanda López Askin.

Results will be certified by the board of County Commissioners next week and then by the New Mexico Secretary of State’s Office later in November.
